Ira J. Goodman, M.D., is a board certified neurologist specializing in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, dementia and memory disorders. His private practice, The Compass Clinic, is located in downtown Orlando. Dr. Goodman graduated from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1979 and completed his internship in internal medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center and residency in Neurology at Shands Teaching Hospital at the University of Florida.

Jay J. Rubin, MD has been engaged in the private practice of Neurology in Florida since 1986. He is board-certified in neurology and sleep medicine and has extensive experience in clinical research and numerous publications. His areas of specialization include general neurology, Alzheimer's disease, neuromuscular disease, epilepsy, chronic pain evaluation, and sleep disorders. Prior to becoming Neuroscience Medical Director for Bioclinica's research center in The Villages, Florida, Dr. Rubin was president of NeuroHealth, Inc. He has practiced in the Villages and in Ocala, Florida for more than 25 years where he and his staff have promoted multidisciplinary treatment and preventive care with an emphasis on optimal outcomes and effective patient communication. Dr. Rubin is a member of the medical staff at four local hospitals and was President of the Medical Staff at the HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Ocala, Florida from 2014-2016.

With clinical research experience spanning more than 20 years, Dr. Rubin has been the Principal Investigator for more than 40 clinical trials and a Sub-investigator for more than 30 trials. These clinical trials have involved treatment protocols for Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment, diabetic polyneuropathy, migraines headaches, Parkinsonism, post-herpetic neuralgia, sleep disorders, strokes, and other diseases. Such trials have contributed to the FDA approval of drugs including gabapentin (Neurontin), pregabalin (Lyrica) and suvorexant (Belsomra). Dr. Rubin frequently lectures in the community and to medical personnel, creating awareness and education about clinical trial participation. He and his staff have enjoyed providing thousands of patients and others the opportunity to participate in national and international clinical research trials, which have brought cutting-edge treatment to the local community. In his role with Bioclinica Research Network, one of Dr. Rubin's key objectives is the continuation of exceptional communication and mentorship of local physicians and other providers so more patients can access the opportunities in clinical trial participation locally.

Dr. Rubin is a Member of Graduate Medical Education Faculty of University of Central Florida College of Medicine residency programs for internal medicine and family practice programs at Ocala Health (Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital). He is a member and past president of the Marion County Medical Association and also a member of the Florida Medical Association and the American Academy of Neurology. Dr. Rubin obtained a B.S. degree in Chemistry and a B.A. degree in Psychology at the University of Miami in 1977. He obtained an M.D. degree in 1982 and completed neurology residency in 1986 at the University of Florida, College of Medicine.

Dr. Baez manages Bioclinica Research’s laboratorial facilities, as well as the laboratory’s contributions to research studies. He has worked in over 300 clinical trials, including many first-in-human trials. Before joining our team, Dr. Baez was the Night Shift Clinical Staff Supervisor and Lab Supervisor at Orlando Clinical Research Center, a 98-bed Phase 1 unit. He also served as the Senior Research Physician at the Columbia University-Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center in New York City. For six years, Dr. Baez was involved in programs studying clinical, epidemiological, and genetic factors for Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological disorders. Dr. Baez earned his medical degree in his home country, the Dominican Republic, at Universidad Autonoma De Santo Domingo.
